AGHA & AUSVM Best Small Stand Award.

Whilst we are forever hearing that annoying question - are these goods really Original or what do you do with these items it goes to show you that with a little imagination & a whole lot of brainstorming you can put something together that has a bit of 'Wow Factor'! Our Stand this year was in keeping with the Industrial theme & we thought why not try old corrugated iron? Great idea.......in theory yes but, trying to source the rustic look was a chore. We spent many hours 'surfing' the net, popping in on Re-Cycling centres, rummaging Council kerbside clean up's & lo & behold our dog groomer had an old Chook Shed just waiting to be pulled down!

It all came together & our visual merchandisers from AUSVM loved it! Thankyou AGHA & Gifwrap Magazine for  all your kind words & support, it really means a lot to us!

Happy Easter........

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all in close contact a very Happy Easter. Whilst it is a lovely break & the weather so great it seems the perfect opportunity to have some time out. We wish!!! Things are pretty hectic although we feel very lucky that so many people love & appreciate our product!

Home & Giving Fair Feb 2013

Well not long now till the big day! We are busy getting stock cleaned and sorted for the Fair. Lots of new stock has arrived, be early so you don't miss out! Pop by and see us at Stand HN1 - Sydney Olympic Park.

And the winner is..........

We have just recently completed the Home & Giving Fair at Sydney Olympic Park. This year we decided to do something a little different & after a lot of head scratching, brainstorming & clever use of 'Up - cycling' we decided to go with the Industrial theme & use old rusty corrugated iron as our back drop. Good idea........hmmm, not sure!! It weighed a tonne but after all the sweat (and tears) looked fabulous. A real boost to us both was winning the 'Best Small Stand'! Our Visual Merchandisers LOVED it & so it goes to show you that pulling down an Old Chook Shed & using a bit of thinking outside the square, can sometimes work out! Happy dance!

Our container is on it's way full to the brim with all your favourites like Bowling Pins, Mason Jars with Zinc lids, Bobbins, Crates & 1000's of original Milk Bottles! Phew!

As the year draws to an end.....

Where has the year gone you may all ask? We can't fathom it is almost Christmas & the New Year is just around the corner. It certainly has been a challenging & rewarding year for us here at Picket Fence Imports. With the world economy in free fall people seem to love the look of re-use,re-cycle or dare I say the new catchphrase "Upcycling"! Nothing seems quite the same as a piece of Vintage Glass or a well worn treasure from years gone by. We will be posting soon on a wonderful range of new stock arriving early in New Year!
